Ingredients
- 200 ml (⅞ cup) warm milk
- 7 g (1 1/2 teaspoons) dry yeast
- 20 g (4 3/4 teaspoons) sugar
- 6 g (1 teaspoon) salt
- 20 g (1 tablespoon) honey
- 400 g (3 cups) all-purpose flour
- 30 g (2 tablespoons) softened butter
- 50 g (½ cup) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Activate the Yeast: In a bowl, mix the warm milk with the dry yeast, honey, and sugar.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the all-purpose flour and salt to the liquid mixture, stirring until smooth.
- Incorporate Butter: Mix the softened butter into the dough, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Knead the chocolate chips into the dough.
- Rest and Fold: Fold the dough twice, allowing 15 minutes of rest between each fold. After the second fold, leave it to rest for 1 hour.
- Shape the Rolls: Cut the dough into 6 equal parts. Shape each part into a cigar-like roll and place them in a casserole dish.
- Final Rise: Let the rolls rest for 1 hour, or until they have doubled in size.
- Bake: Brush the tops with a beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 20–22 minutes.
